It was a hot sunny August day sixteen years ago when I was pondering the question of why the Temple seemed to go dark during the summer. Members slipped away in their Golden Dawn Studies, they lost focus on self-empowerment, and class attendance was literally nothing.

Thoth spoke to my mind. I thought about a Power Week where people become initiated physically, where they could attend classes on a variety of subjects, where life and energy could be invoked in our Order during a normally slow period. I was thrilled with the idea of Power Week. I wanted to help people find a sense of empowerment that would last for an entire year. Most important was the fact that I did not want us charging tons of money like other week long seminars.

Well, as you might imagine I had plenty of people that told me the whole idea of a Power Week would never work. I worked on the idea for an entire year. Every post included something about Power Week, and a year later we had about forty people attending the first Power Week.

Fifteen years later, one year after Thoth gave me the idea; here we are together; here we are together celebrating Power Week. I hope you are as excited as I am. I want you to walk away from Power Week with a deeper sense of magical purpose. My intention is that what you absorb during this week will last you for an entire year. This is your time, everything is dedicated to you.

I would also like to dedicate this Power Week to a few special people. Special thanks to all the Adepts who gave so much and ask so little, and to all the Order volunteers who have been working without rest here at the Temple of Ptah.

Mostly, I would like to give gratitude to the Lord of the Universe who continues to bestow the Light of the Divine Mysteries and our Order. People constantly ask me, “WHERE can I find the Golden Dawn?” Well, the answer is right here!

I invite you to sign up for Power Week 2010 as soon as possible. Can you imagine that already we have several people signed up for 2010? This is one event you will not want to delay on. This is your week; enjoy it and savor it, for the memories will last the rest of your life. The Light hath healing in its Wings!
